Collection: MARIA SABINA

By Ana Marcela

This is a collection inspired by the medicine of the Sacred Mushroom Ceremonies of Maria Sabina. Maria was a Mazatec healer and Shaman from the Oaxaca in Mexico. She became a pioneer in bringing the wisdom & healing of the mushrooms to the western world. She became renowned internationally after an essay was published at the LIFE magazine in 1957. Written by amateur mycologist Robert Gordon Wasson, he described his experience after taking psilocybin mushrooms in 1955 during a Mazatec ritual held by Maria herself in Mexico.
